CONGRATULATIONS TO...

…YES Community Counseling Center‘s PACT (Partnering In Action Change For Tomorrow) on the launch of their new website and their Let’s Do Our Part Campaign.

The campaign, in conjunction with Northwell Health, kicked off with an event aimed to educate local pediatricians on how to effectively address substance use and prevention among youth.

 

Greenlawn Water District on launching their new website.

The Greenlawn Water District, which provides water to the Greenlawn village area as well as to parts of South Greenlawn, Laurel Hill, Commack, and South Elwood now has a spiffy new, easy to navigate website. The District, which covers fourteen square miles, provides Earth’s most precious resource from groundwater to over 42,000 people. Information about available services and bios of Commissioners  James M. Logan, John T. McLaughlin and John H. Clark as well as Superintendent Robert Santoriello are included. The new website provides background and history, conservation and sustainability messages and a host of resources ranging from newsletters and annual drinking water quality reports to public notices and a photo gallery. Designed by A.J. Schmitz and built by Ross Mahler, the PMG team was led by Teresa Pelio.

 

 

 

ACLD Foundation on their 2021 Enviable Life Ball event held at The Garden City Hotel in October.

This was the first in-person Enviable Life Ball since 2019. The evening included honorees Howard Siegel, President and CEO of Irwin Siegel Agency, and Steve Bellone, Suffolk County Executive.

ACLD Foundation supports and raises funds for the exclusive benefit of Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD) whose mission is to provide opportunities for children and adults with autism, learning and developmental disabilities to pursue enviable lives, increase independence and foster supportive relationships within the community. In total, the event raised over $341,000!

 

 

 

Olga J. Mubarak of D&B Engineers and Architects who was recognized as one of Nassau County’s Women of Distinction 2021.

Ms. Mubarak was honored at an event presented by Blank Slate Media on November 9, 2021. Ms. Mubarak was recognized for this award for being a trailblazer in the field of engineering. She has helped expand the definition of the American Dream and enriched the lives of everyone in Nassau County. Her accomplishments are an inspiration and she remains determined to have a long-lasting impact on our communities.

 

 

 

The Long Island Council of the Navy League of the United States who recently held a World War II Veterans Recognition Event in conjunction with Veteran’s Day.

The event honored the heroic service efforts of three Long Island World War II veterans who protected our freedoms during their service in the United States military: Lieutenant Commander Jules V. Steinhauer of Farmingdale, NY, Radio Technician 1st Class Victor Nelson pf Bethpage, NY, and the late William J. Evanzia of Westbury, NY, Communications Officer, Radar-Man 2nd Class, RD2, who was recognized posthumously. In honor of their bravery and service, the Long Island Council of the Navy League of the United States presented to Steinhauer, Nelson and the family of the late Evanzia special awards that stated, “Thank You For Your Service To Our Country and Your Commitment To Our Community.”
