ACLD Foundation hosted its 2nd Annual Poker for a Purpose event at The Carltun at Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, New York, as 175 supporters came together to make a difference in the lives of children and adults with special needs and helped to raise close to $75,000!
The proceeds from the event benefit ACLD’s Vacation Fund which provides vacations to people living in ACLD community residences who are unable to afford vacations. Gary Cucchi, Vice President of PMG was on hand and was dealt a few good poker hands until his time was up at the table. The star of the night was Mr. Joey Lee of the LISS Group, recognized as the event honoree. He was joined by his family and celebrity guest Mike Richter of the New York Rangers. The final round of five players created an exciting atmosphere with Mark Amato taking home the chip and a seat at the Borgata Spring Open for a chance to win $1 million!
The fun-filled event consisted of gourmet food, open bar, raffles, a silent auction and a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament with fabulous prizes to the top five winners.
