Congratulations to our friends at Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD) as they celebrated 65 years of serving individuals with intellectual, learning, and developmental disabilities at their annual Enviable Life Ball. The ballroom at The Garden City Hotel was filled with supporters and over $340,000 was raised for the exclusive benefit of ACLD.
At this year’s event, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul was honored with the Humanitarian Award, which is presented to an individual who has advocated for the people in which ACLD supports and their families. As Governor Hochul could not attend, Kerri Neifeld, Commissioner for the Office of People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), accepted the award on her behalf. In addition, New York State Senator John W. Mannion of Syracuse, NY, was presented with the Advocacy in Action Award for his work as the Chairman of Committee on Disabilities.
Not only were these two government officials honored, but ACLD awarded 20 members of ACLD staff with Leadership awards and calling them “the backbone of the agency.”
Double congratulations to ACLD…on their 65th anniversary and for the astounding success of this year’s Enviable Life Ball!
